| Happily the same chance as before brought it into the hands of the keeper and his wife, both of wh om received it with delight. The Emperor of Persia was even more enraged than before, and would have made the Queen feel his anger, but for the pleading of the Grand Vizier. When a princess was born the next year, the two sisters exposed it to the same fate as the Princes, her brothers, for they were bent upon seeing the Queen cast off, turned out, and humbled. But the Princess, like her brothers, was saved by the keeper of the gar dens. The Emperor was told this time that his child was a block of wood.
