江山留胜迹,Leaving behind landmarks of human endeavor

我辈复登临.For newcomers to visit and pay homage to.

水落鱼梁浅,When water level fall, the fishing grounds look shallow;

天寒梦泽深.When days get really cold, the Great Lake seems unfathomable.

羊公碑尚在,The stone tablet erected for Duke Yang still stands.

读罢泪沾襟.After reading the inscriptions, I buried my head in my hands and cried.



Mount Xianshou: Is in Xiangyang, Hubei Province.

The Great Lake: Ancient marshes astride of the southern parts of Hubei and the northern parts of Hunan.

Duke Yang: A celebrated defender of Xiangyang (Hubei) during the West Jin period. A stone tablet was erected to commemorate his heroic deeds.
