| Don Quixote's Last Battle The Hanging Legs We must leave out many of the adventures of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, and tell the story of his last battle. One evening they were riding to Barcelona, and i t became dark before they found an inn. They had to pass the night in a small wood, not far from the road. As Sancho went among the trees, he struck his head against something. Feeling with his han ds, he found that it was a pair of legs hanging from a tree. Shaking with fear, he went on a little way, and found another pair of legs hanging down. "Help, master," he cried, "the trees are full of men's legs and fe et." Don Quixote came, and soon understood what had happened. "There is nothing to be afraid of," he said. "These legs belong to robbers and killers.
