He then became so angry, and talked and behaved so wildly, that the officer saw he was mad. The priest said he would take care of Don Quixote, and send him home to his friends. The officer then agreed to leave, and not to take him prisoner. Don Quixote Is Made Prisoner That evening, Don Quixote went to bed early, and Sancho soon followed his master's example. The priest and the barber then made plans to take the mad knight back to his village. There was a man passing the inn with a cart and two horses, and they promised to pay the man well if he would help them. He agreed, and they then built a strong wooden cage, like those used for wild animals. When everything was ready, the priest and the barber, with the inn-keeper, went into Don Quixote's room. He was asleep, and they tied him up with ropes. Then they carried him to the cage which w as already on the cart.
