| Don Quixote Becomes a Knight Don Quixote quite believed all this, and asked to be made a knight immediately. "If anybody attacks me again," said Don Quixote, "I shall kill everyone in the castle. I may forgive some, if the governor wants me to." The inn-keeper was even more worried and frightened. He went into the inn, and brought out an old notebook. Then, telling Don Quixote to kneel in front of him, he began to read in a low voice. He read quickly, like a man saying his prayers. In the middle of his reading, he took the sword, and laid it softly on Don Quixote's shoulder. When he had finished speaking in this serious way, one of the beggar-women fastened his sword to his belt. Then Don Quixote, the new-made knight, went to get Rozinante. He rode away, to fight dishonest people everywhere.
