198. The Boy Bathing

A Boy bathing in a river was in danger of b
eing drowned. He called out to a traveller, passing by, for help. The traveller, instead of holding out a helping hand, stood by unconcernedly, and scolded the boy for his imprudence. "Oh, sir!" cr
ied the youth, "pray help me now, and scold me afterwards."

Counsel without help, is useless.

198. 洗澡的小孩
一个小孩在河里洗澡，几乎要溺水了。他对旁边一个经过的行人呼救。那个行人却没有伸手救援，只是毫不关心地站在旁边，还骂这小孩怎么如此不小心。那小孩叫道：「先生，请先救了我的命，然后再骂也不迟呀！」
只劝告而不帮助，是毫无用处的。
