刚来到中国的老外可能会遇到这样的情况：坐公共汽车时，司机经常号召乘客给老弱病残孕乘客让座。在西方可不是这样的，对方会觉得你认为他们没用了，最后闹得很不愉快。那么，该让座吗？答案是，在中国，让座还是不让座，这不是个问题，因为，人们选择前者。
Westerners who have just arrived in China may come across this situation: bus drivers often call upon passengers to offer their seats to those who are old, weak, sick, disabled, or pregnant. It is very different in the West, where doing so might make a person feel useless, making both sides unhappy. So should we offer our seats? The answer is that in China, it is not a question to offer one's seat or not, because people choose the former.  
      在中国，老弱病残孕属于弱势群体，人们认为保护弱者是件理所当然的事情。并且尊老爱幼一直是中华民族的传统美德。他们认为，是老人们为这个社会做出了贡献。现在他们老了，整个社会都应该尊敬、回报他们。孩子代表未来，要让他们过得更好，才能有更美好的明天。至于残疾人和孕妇，他们身体上多有不便，所以要尽量给他们提供各种便利。这种观念在中国持续了多年，所以，当你看到老弱病残孕时，不用犹豫，尽量帮助他们吧！
In China, people treat the old, weak, sick, disabled, and pregnant as a disadvantaged group that deserve to be protected. Respecting elders and caring for children has long been a traditional Chinese virtue. The elderly have contributed much to society, so Chinese believe that people ought to respect them as reciprocation. Children represent the future, and treating them better is the only way to improve tomorrow's world. Due to their physical conditions, the disabled and pregnantdeserve more convenience. Chinese people have had such beliefs for many years. So when you encounter people from this group, do not hesitate to help them.
