| As all teachers of young learners know, visuals play an important role in the classroom in stimulating the imagingation of children. Storytime is a good example of this, when the children clamber to see the pictures in the book as the teacher reads them. Children will remember a word much more easily if they can relate it to a pictorial clue. This is also true of sounds. Some English sounds are not easy for learners to produce or recognise, so relating them to pictures will help, and even more so if the children participate in making the visuals.
Help your students to increase their vocabulary by using sound dictionaries in your classes. |
