| At the beginning of the class introduce the topic or grammar point you will be teaching that day. At the beginning or end of each exercise, ask students why they think they were asked to do it. Listen to their ideas and justify why you used that exercise at that time. Each class should attempt to cover all the four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. This is so that students feel comfortable using the new language in all areas of communication. It also satisfies those students who will mainly use English in speech, or those who use it in writing, for example, emails or chatting online. |
