| How can you help your students remember and learn new vocabulary? Here are some of the things I do in my classroom to help my students remember new words. Can you fill in the gaps? |

| You can help your students to remember words by making class displays of pictures or other memory aids to support new vocabulary. I like to bring in objects to the classroom and display them. If I am teaching fruit words I will bring in pieces of fruit and put them on display. If I am teaching transport words, I will bring in toy cars, and planes, and boats and display them. |
| Remember that children are learning new things all the time so it is easy for them to forget! To help children remember, it is a good idea to use new words and phrases several times in different ways. You could try guessing games, either/or activities or classifying. By doing this activities you can give children extra opportunities to listen and repeat what is new and go back over what they know. In this way new and old come together in the child's memory.
