| Can you remember your favourite stories from when you were a child? Think about why you enjoyed the stories. For example, I enjoyed them because I could identify with some of the characters. I imagined living inside the story. Story time at school was always exciting and happy and I liked listening to my teacher tell a story.
We should use stories in our classes for precisely the same reasons that you have been thinking about. From a teaching point of view by using stories we can expose our students to language which is usually beyond their productivecapacity, but that they will understand because it is within a 'story' framework they are familiar with and understand.
