| Activity 3 Cafeteria Schedule and bag lunches Draw a cafeteria menu on the board (just a two or three days would be enough). Ask students questions about the menu using the structure What do you have for lunch on _________? Then put some pictures or actual food items in a bag. Try to make up two or three bags. Hand each one out to students. Then ask them questions using the structure What do you have for lunch? Make sure to contrast the structures and when to use them. You can then hand out a few menus to students. Ask them questions using the structure What are you having for lunch? Again, point out the difference in the structure. The explanation can be given in Chinese. Watch the movie (The movie is in three parts. You can watch the first part then do the explanation and point out the structure. Then watch the second part of the movie and then do the demonstration. Finally, watch the third part and then do the demonstration.) | Activity 4 Memory game Divide the class into two teams. Hand each member of Team 1 a flashcard. At first, they hide them so that no one can see them. Then one by one, each student holds up the card and recites the word. Once everyone has said their word, they hide the cards again. Team 2, then tries to recite the words in the order that they were presented. As each word is correctly guessed, the students hold up the card. Then you can swap the cards to Team 2. They show the cards and recite the words. After hiding the cards, Team 1 tries to repeat the words in the same order as they were presented. As each word is correctly guessed, the students hold up the cards. You can say, Hold up your cards. Say the word. Hide your cards. Try to remember the cards. (5 to 10 minutes)
