  Activity 2 Listening to the Flash movie

While you are listening, write down the names of all the animals you hear.
Listen to the movie and write down the names of the animals you hear.

Dai Lisi:  Today is Ma Lanlan's birthday.  She has a new pet.
Wang Dong:  Really?  What is it?
Dai Lisi:  I don't know.  Let's go and see her.  We can find out.

At Ma Lanlan's
Dai Lisi:  Hi Ma Lanlan.  May we have a look at your new pet?
Wang Dong:  What is it?
Ma Lanlan:  Can you guess?
Wang Dong:  Is it a cat or a dog?
Ma Lanlan:  No it only has two legs.
Dai Lisi:  Is it a mouse?
Ma Lanlan:  No.  A mouse has four legs.
Dai Lisi:  Oh yes.
Wang Dong:  Is it a duck?
Ma Lanlan:  Yes.  It is.
Dai Lisi:  May we have a look?
Ma Lanlan:  Sure.  Here it is.
Wang Dong:  May I hold it?
Ma Lanlan:  Yes.  Here you are.
Wang Dong:  Thanks.  It's lovely.  I like it.

Make a list of all the animals that were mentioned in the movie on the board.

  Activity 3 Put the words in the right place

Present the pictures of animals and put them into different columns.

What's this?  Yes, it's a cat.
And this?  What is it?  Yes, it's a dog. 
How about this?  Yes, it's a mouse.  Good.etc

Put the animals in the right column according to how many legs they have.

Ask the children why you have put them in the different columns.

Now ask children to come to the board and stick word cards next to each picture.

  Activity 4 Game

Acting game in pairs

Tell the children that they must work together in pairs to prepare a small performance.  They must speak the following words from the dialogue but they can choose what animal they are talking about.  They should show what the animal is by the way they hold and touch it.  These instructions are quite difficult so it is best to give them in Chinese.

When the rest of the class watch, they must guess what animal it is.

Dai Lisi:  May we have a look?
Ma Lanlan:  Sure.  Here it is.
Wang Dong:  May I hold it?
Ma Lanlan:  Yes.  Here you are.
Wang Dong:  Thanks.  It's lovely.  I like it.

  活动4:

两人一组活动游戏
告诉学生们,他们必须两人一组准备一个对话小节目。学生可以选择一种动物来进行谈话,但在谈话过程中,必须用上下列词汇。学生应当通过如何抱这些动物,怎么抚摸它们展示给大家。这些做法很复杂,所以教师最好用汉语解释清楚。
班上其余观看的同学,一定要猜测那是什么动物。

Dai Lisi:  我们可以看看吗?
Ma Lanlan:  当然。给你。
Wang Dong:  我可以抱抱它吗?
Ma Lanlan:  可以,给你。
