老子《道德经》英译第十一章

【原文】

三十辐，共一毂，当其无，有车之用。埏埴以为器，当其无，有器之用。凿户牖以为室，当其无，有室之用。故有之以为利，无之以为用。

【现代汉语】

三十支車輻拱著一支車轂，正因中間是虛空的，所以車子才能運轉使用。

摶揉黏土做成器皿，正因中間是虛空的，所以器皿才得盛物使用。

開鑿門窗，起造房舍，正因中間是虛空的，所以房舍才得居住使用。

因此有形有象，利益萬物；虛空無物，妙用無窮。

【英语翻译】

The thirty spokes unite in the one nave; but it is on the empty space (for the axle), that the use of the wheel depends. Clay is fashioned into vessels; but it is on their empty hollowness, that their use depends. The door and windows are cut out (from the walls) to form an apartment; but it is on the empty space (within), that its use depends. Therefore, what has a (positive) existence serves for profitableadaptation, and what has not that for (actual) usefulness.

心靈放空，才能容物。 捨棄，只是捨棄，根本不用問：是否還有可能，因為真正的可能性，就是回到空無的境地。 執著必帶來痛苦，放下是良方；虛空妙用，才得無窮！
