为了全面落实"新北京、新奥运"的战略构想，建设"人文奥运"和营造北京国际化语言环境，塑造文明、开放的国际化大都市形象，市民学外语、用外语的行动已经在北京各个社区展开。

        自"奥运英语进社区"活动以来，许多在校大学生，培训机构，专业人事都投入到这一志愿活动中来。志愿者们利用业余时间精心准备授课材料，他们的行动使更多的北京市民参与到"2008奥运"的准备活动之中。参加学习的大爷大妈们的学习热情也非常令人感动，他们说当初学外语的主要目的就是希望能为奥运会贡献力量，但学着学着，发现自己的交际面宽了，视野也广了。

        北京的不少社区中也出现了来自不同国家，不同肤色，不同文化背景的"洋教头"。"洋教头"们轻松、活泼的讲课风格，受到了"学生"们的一致热捧。

In order to fully implement the strategic concept of "New Beijing, New Olympics", construct a "Humanity Olympics", create a better language environment, and shape an image of international metropolis, the activity to assist people in learning and using a foreign language has been carried out in various communities in Beijing.

Since the program of "Olympic Community English Class" started, many college students, training institutions and professionals have devoted to volunteer activities. They dedicated their spare time to prepare teaching materials, and their actions have attracted more and more Beijing citizens to participate in preparatory works for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Elderly residents who attended the classes also show their enthusiasm for the language learning. They said that at the beginning their purpose of learning English was to make better contributions to the Olympics, but after learning for months, they found that they not only widen their knowledge but also enlarge their social circles.

Nowadays, foreign teachers have emerged in many Beijing communities. They come from different countries; have different skin colors and different cultural backgrounds. The relaxing and livelylearningatmosphere they create in the classroom brings great joy to the "students" in learning foreign languages.
