The next time you're an attendee at a meeting, practise listening to other attendees speaking and see if you can write down the key words from what they say as notes.
This will help you to record the most important points, the 'essence', of what they say and improve your ability to chair meetings in future. Ask to be the minute-taker in a meeting when you feel confident enough. After all, you can only learn something by actually doing it.
Listen to these short extracts from a meeting and see if you can write down some notes using key words. Then check your notes with our ideas. And remember, try doing this exercise by listening only once, just like in a real meeting.
Good luck !
