Northern lights appear all year round in Greenland, but they can only be observed（看到） against a clear, dark night sky. They appear at a height（高度） of about 100 kilometers (65 miles) and have the shape of a flapping curtain（窗帘） or points radiating（放射） from a single dot（点）.

　　1．flux

　　a state of flux是固定用法，表示"变迁"、"不断的变化"等。与上面eternal（永恒的）, rapid（迅速地）和起来，意思就是"永远不断地迅速变化着"。

　　2．Height是名词，意思是"高度"，主要有以下一些用法：

　　（1）表示身高，如填表时人家可能会说：

　　State your age, height, and weight.

　　填上你的年龄，身高和体重。
