The Underground system is easy to use. There are several different lines - each with a different colour on a map. There are six zones. Zone 1 is the centre of London, zone 6 is the outskirts. The more zones you travel through, the more expensive your ticket. You can buy tickets from machines or where you see a sign which says "assistance and tickets".
You can buy a ticket for each journey but if you are making a lot of journeys in a day it's much cheaper to buy a "travelcard". This is a special ticket which lets you ride on the underground, trains and busses all day.
London has many special red buses. These are called "double-deckers". They have two floors. Each bus has a number on the front and also the destination. You can catch a bus at a bus stop, or some buses have an open back so you can just jump on and off where you like.
