Step 1. Greet the class and check the homework.

Step 2. 3a
Show the pictures of Tiger Woods, Shirley Temple, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Mei Lanfang, Ronaldo, Liu Xuan on the screen and ask students to say something about them.
Divide the class into two parts. Part A Look at 3a , and Part B turn to page 86. Read the passage and fill in as many blanks as they can in the chart.

Move around to check the progress.
Ask the students in Part A and Part B to exchange the information and fill in the chart.
Ask several students to tell their answers .

Point out the Grammar points:

Step 3. 3b
Call attention to the conversation in 3b. Ask 2 students to read it to the class.
Say, this conversation is about Shirley Temple. Now talk about other famous people in the chart in 3a with your partner.
Move around to give any necessary help.
Get several pairs to act in class.
Step 4 4a
Call attention to the chart in 4a. First ask a students to read the achievements to the class.
Ask a student, when did you learn to ride a bike. Ask him to write his answer in the third column. Ask students to make a survey of their neighbors and write down the information.
Step 5 4b
Ask students to tell the class what they learnt about one student. Point out the sample answers in the box.
Allow other students to ask questions if they understand something another student says.
Ask each student to read at least one statement from his or her chart.

Step 5 Summary
Today we have talked about some famous people. They all start their doing when they were very young. And finally they made great success. But that based on their years of hard work. Even to us, they are good examples. Whenever we study or doing sth other field, you are never too young to study things. From now on, start your own doings like making English learning or other courses, you will succeed.
