(Xinhua 2008-05-30 15:01:48) General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nong Duc Manh arrived in Beijing on Friday, starting a four-day official good-will visit to China as guest of Chinese President Hu Jintao.
On Manh's arrival in Beijing, he handed over to China a list of relief materials totaling 15 metric tons, which will be delivered to the quake-hit areas by two batches.
The first batch, including 100 tents and 4,000 boxes of milk powder, will be transported Friday night by train from Beijing to the quake-affected Longnan area in Gansu Province, which neighbors the quake-hit Sichuan Province.
The other batch of 50 tents and 6,000 boxes of milk powder will be delivered next Monday by a special plane from Vietnam to Nanjing, capital of eastern Jiangsu Province, and then forwarded to the quake zone.
During Manh's visit, Hu will hold talks with him. Top legislator Wu Bangguo, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and top political advisor Jia Qinglin will also meet with him, respectively.
