TOKYO, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- The approval" title="n.不赞成;非难">disapproval rating for Prime Minister Taro Aso's cabinet has risen to 42.2 percent, topping the approval rating for the first time since Aso took office in late September, Kyodo News reported Monday, citing its survey conducted on Saturday and Sunday.
The support rating for Aso's cabinet dropped by 1.6 percentage points to 40.9 percent from the previous survey while the approval" title="n.不赞成;非难">disapproval rating went up by 3.2 percentage points, showed the telephone survey involving 1,027 eligible voters.
Aso's economic policies were one of the focuses the respondents were most concerned with. Up to 27.9 percent of those who said they do not support the Cabinet responded that they do not appreciate Aso's economic policies, up 5.3 percentage points from the previous survey.
Even among those who support the Cabinet, only 13.3 percent cited Aso's economic policies as a reason for their support.
