定语：

定语：是修饰限定的成份，做定语的词一般是形容词，但也可用介词短语或定语从句做定语。

介词短语做后置定语：

a book on the desk

定语从句：

This is the boy I saw yesterday.

在英语中，形容词修饰名词时，修饰成份放在名词前面，但由一个介词短语或句子修饰名词时，这个修饰成份应放在名词的后面。
