China's Qian Zhenhua made history by becoming the first Chinese and the first Asian athlete to win the men's singles title at the Modern Pentathlon World Championships.
The 25-year-old Qian topped the final rankings with a total of 5756 points from pistol shooting, epee fencing, swimming, riding and cross-country running.
Russia lifted the trophy in the men's team category with 16,916 points.
