One week ago one of my best friends told me his girl friend in another university departed from him. When he told me this stunning-to-me news, he pretended to be relaxed as if he did not take it too much to heart. However, I know deep down in his heart, he felt grief-stricken. He had been in love with his girl friend for three years. I know he loved her from the bottom of his heart and can do almost anything for her. He promises her anything she required. He loved doing whatsoever with her. I remember there was a time when his bag went broken and I reminded him of purchasing a new one. He said to me smiling that he would wait for his girlfriend coming back and they went to select a new one together. In the very beginning, I felt he was somewhat stupid. Nonetheless, after second thought minutes later, I felt he was really romantic and admired his deeds. The trivial matters may mirror one's personality. I know he had done a lot for her, which I do not mean to detail here. I had thought that they would ultimately come together till the end of life, never ever had I imagined the final result. He told me his girl friend performed exceptionally in her school and planed to go abroad for further education. She believed she could find a better boyfriend in America, hence she determined to terminate the relationship with him.

Hearing the statements of my friend, I fell into total silence and was speechless to him, only staring straight into his eyes. Any word of comforting then was nothing but pale to ease his pain. I just wanted to inject my firm support into his mind through digging into his eyes directly. I know he sensed my meaning through his grateful smiles.

After I went back to dormitory, I sent him a message that is as follows: my dear friend, when something happens, comforting word may seem unavailing to you. Hence I have to bury numerous encouraging remarks in my heart. What I must tell you is that you do lose a girlfriend, but you still have us! What you lose presently will be made up through our friendship temporarily, and will be made up through a better girl in your future. There is always someone who is waiting for you to hold her hands! The coming days may be a little more boring than before, but we will always back you up if you trust us!

Now I come to realize that how difficult it is for two to know, to love and to live together for the rest of their lives. The following poem is composed by myself to give the true lovers in the world. I hope they could come to a happy and perfect ending.
