A murder and robbery suspect from Hubei Province was caught by police in Putuo District, officers said yesterday.

　　A young man was found on campus at Jinhua Middle School by security guards. Police were called, who arrived and detained the suspect, surnamed Yu. While conducting a background check, police discovered Yu was on the wanted list in Hubei. Yu allegedly confessed he beat a man to death with a brick and stole 100 yuan (US$12.4) and a cell phone in Xiangfan City of Hubei on December 27. He then fled to Shanghai.
