FOR children all over the world summer is a time to celebrate. But for me, growing up in New Hampshire, US, summer was my chance to escape into a magical world. 对于全世界所有的孩子来说，夏季是一个值得庆祝的时节！于我而言，我从小在美国新罕布什尔州长大，夏季是我逃入魔法世界的时候！
Every summer for 17 years, my family went to our house on Lake Winnipesaukee.

My brothers and I would wake up early and gather our toys for a day at the beach. My mother would prepare a lunch of sandwiches, sodas and fruit. Then we would run down the grassy hill to the beach and dump out our buckets and shovels and start building sand castles. After a few hours and a lot of sand in our shorts, my brothers and I would dive into the crystal clear water. 我和哥哥们会早起，在沙滩上把我们一天的玩具都收集起来。妈妈则会准备午餐，包括三明知，苏打水和水果。然后，我们就会在布满小草的山丘上狂奔到沙滩，把桶里东西统统倒出来，拿起铁铲开始建造沙堡！几个小时候后，当我们的裤腿里都进满了沙子，我和哥哥们就会扑到清水里！
My favorite part of the day was when I would swim out to the raft. I would climb up the ladder and look for a spot to lie down. The waves would gently move the raft up and down and often I would fall asleep. Even to this day, this is the place I go to in my mind when I need to find peace. 一天中我最喜欢的就是坐竹筏。我会爬上梯子，找一个适合躺下休息的地方。竹筏在温柔的海浪上起起浮浮，我就躺在里面睡着了。直到今天，我寻找平静时，脑海中仍然会浮现出这个地方。
The best days were the weekends when my dad didn't have to work. He would take us out on our boat. We zoomed around the lake. Then it would be time to water ski. I was never very good but it was a lot of fun. 周末的时候爸爸不去上班，那是岁快乐的时候了。他就会带我们出去划船。我们围绕着湖泊快速航行。之后就是滑水的最好时机！我虽然从不擅长，但总是乐在其中。
At the end of the day, my father would cook hamburgers and hot dogs on our grill. The only problem was all the mosquitoes would bite us. But I guess they needed dinner too. 一天最末，爸爸会在烤肉架上准备汉堡和热狗。唯一的问题是所有的蚊子都会攻击我们。但我猜测他们也是要吃饭的吧！
It was a special time in my life and one that made me wish summer could last forever.
这是我生活中一段特殊的时光，也正是这段时光让我希望夏季永远不要结束。
