高二英语Unit 9教案
Ⅰ. Theoretical Basis
According to the National New Curriculum Standard, there are three main objectives of
senior English instruction, that is, the
objective of knowledge and abilities, the
objective of processes and methods, the
objective of emotions, attitudes and values. So, in this period, not only will students be given knowledge, but also I will
cultivate their abilities, and show them how to learn, and what’ more, there will be moral education and values education. In all, my teaching will meet the needs of new curriculum reform.
Ⅱ. Analysis of the Lesson
This is the
reading part of unit 9, which plays a dominating role in this unit. The
reading material is about an
introduction to the Earth Summit. The text tells us about the Earth Summit which took place in Africa in 2002, including the background, the theme of the meeting and the main questions raised at the meeting and some solutions. The
reading material is of great
realistic importance. Reading the text will greatly
enrich students in the language and information which are
related to the theme of this unit.
Ⅲ. Aims of the Lesson
According to the above
analysis of the new curriculum and the teaching materials, there are three aims of this period.
(1)Knowledge and Abilities:

b. Learn some important phrases and
sentence patterns.
(2)Processes and methods:

ability in skimming. Show them how to grasp the main idea of the passage in fast reading.
b. To improve students’
ability in scanning. They will learn how to get the detailed information while
reading further.
(3)Emotions, attitudes and values:

b. Encourage Ss to do something to save and protect the earth and our environment.
Ⅳ. Important and Difficult Points
(1)Important points:
a. Improve Ss’
reading abilities
b. Conduct moral education. Make them know how important it is to protect our environment.
(2)Difficult Points:
Improve students’ four skills in the course of reading.
Ⅴ. Teaching Strategies and Teaching Aids
So far as the theme of this unit is concerned, the
reading material has some features. On one hand, the Earth Summit is a hot issue, so there are many news reports and information about it on the Internet, which offers a good chance to
cultivate students’ abilities in collecting information. On the other hand, environmental problem is widely concerned; it involves every one of us, so students must be interested in topics of environmental protection. So I decide to integrate the language teaching with modern information technology. That is, I will make use of the Internet in my teaching. This Internet-assisted
instruction has many advantages over the
traditional instruction. It can not only improve students’ language competence, but only
enhance their abilities in
cooperative learning, autonomous learning, explorative
learning and so on. The teaching strategies and aids are specified as follows.
(1)Teaching strategies:
A. Cooperative learning: I will design some tasks for students to finish in their
cooperative learning.
B. Autonomous learning: Students will finish their tasks by themselves after class with the help of the teacher and their classmates.
C. Communicative strategies: With communicative strategy, teacher will no longer be the center of the class. Instead, teacher acts only as the helper, the guider, and advisor; it is students themselves that will be the center of the class.
D. Task-based instruction: With this strategy, students will
cooperate to finish the
reading task with the help of the teacher.
