Recently, abolishing science-humanities division has sparked a fierce debate again through media.Quite a few people go firmly for the proposed practice, which is in line with the international trend. It can
broaden the students' horizons. As a result, the national
comprehensive power can be enhanced.
However, there are also some people
holding the opposite view. They think that the
educational resources are
insufficient, which makes it impossible to fulfil the aim of
offering students liberal education in all aspects. So it may be sensible for students to concentrate on what they are interested in, gaining some preliminaries in some
specific area. As for what they've missed in their knowledge
accomplishment, they can make it up at college by their efforts pursuing further education.
From where I stand, I firmly argue for the
abolition of such a backward and deficient
educational system, for only those who develop well both emotionally and rationally can survive and
thrive in the complex world .For example, for students majoring in science and engineeering, it's better to immerse themselves in fields
concerning the humanities, thus identified
profoundly in shaping their character, which helps them gain the attributes, such as
self-control, trustworthiness,
conscientiousness, adaptability and
innovation, etc. All the qualities above can make it secure that you can function more
efficient in your career.
