Teaching Procedure:
Step1 Warming-up
. Enjoy an English song
Step2 Presentation
1.Ask: What’s the time? What are you doing now? Revise the Present Continuous Tense
2.Ask :What were you doing at this time yesterday ? Ask several Ss to answer this question .
3. Work in pairs.
Ask and say what you were doing at these times.
Yesterday: 7am 1pm 6pm 9am
Last Saturday: 7am 1pm 6pm 9am
4. Practice What was he\she doing ? He\She was…by showing pictures.
5. Practice What were they doing ? They were…by showing pictures.
Step3 Presentation
1.Ask :Can you guess what I was doing at 9pm yesterday? I was dreaming . Tell the Ss my dream and present the new words.
2.Tell the Ss today we’re going to know a girl called Alice she was also dreaming.
Step4 Listening
1.Introduce the people of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by showing the pictures.
2. Listen and number the characters in the story in the order you hear them. (Activity 1)
3. Listen to the tape. Write notes about what the people in Activity 2 were doing . Then listen again and check.
4. Explain some everyday English
5. Get the Ss to read the dialogue.
6.Ask one or two students to describe what the people in Activity 2 were doing.
Step5 Make a survey
Ask the students to make a survey by interviewing their classmates What was \were … doing? Then write out their results.
