我女儿在北京读小学的一年里，我也曾把儿子送到国内幼儿园一年。因为是所谓高档的、有澳大利亚外教的幼儿园，故每个月要收取三千多元的费用。费用不菲，硬件条件的确不错，室内外布置非常豪华，书本都是美国进口原装的，但是教学的内容我实在不敢恭维。

I sent my son to stay in a kindergarten in Beijing for a year when my daughter was in the primary school there. The kindergarten boasted itself to be a high class kindergarten with teachers employed from Australia, so it charged three thousand yuan every month. It was really well equipped and decorated. The books for children were all imported from the USA. However, the teaching quality was quite disappointing.

        比较起来，我认为国内幼儿园还存着很多问题。针对幼儿园的很多情况，我曾经给过无数次的提议，但是老师们都无法做到，比如，孩子们一天里有太多的东西要学习，太少的时间来玩耍；比如孩子们在户外的活动实在太少，一周连一次都不到，每天就是被关在大高楼的房间里，地上铺着塑料的或者木质的地板，进门要求 光脚换拖鞋，孩子们最多的游戏就是在海洋球里闹一会，就被喊停。孩子们接触不到泥土，、树木，更没有机会去观察小动物的生活方式，他们生活在完全封闭式的环境里。幼儿园里听不到玩耍的嘻哈声，传出来的都是朗朗的读书声。我真为孩子们的辛苦而发愁啊！

Many problems still exist in Chinese kindergartens. I have given my advice accordingly for many times, but the teachers still could not manage to make remedies. For example, children got too much to learn and too little play; they have very few outdoor activities, less than once a week. Everyday they were locked in the rooms with plastic or wooden floor, and were requested to change slippers whenever they entered or went out; the most common game for them was to playing in the ocean of plastic little balls for a while and were stopped soon. They were cut off from the outside world, the soil, the trees, let alone the small animals. They live in an enclosed environment. Wherever you went, you would hear their chorus repetition rather than laughter. How hard were their childhoods!

        不仅如此，国内很多幼儿园的孩子们还被要求学习英语、数学和拼音、汉字......对国内的家长而言，如果幼儿园能有个外教教孩子们英语，那么就算是好幼儿园，多交些费用也无妨。德国人恰恰不主张儿童过早学习外语，他们希望孩子掌握好母语之后，再去接触其他语言也不晚。除非双语家庭的儿童。

Moreover, at present in many Chinese kindergartens children were made to learn English, math, pinyin and characters. For many Chinese parents, if a kindergarten has a foreign teacher to teach their kids English, it is a good kindergarten, and they are willing to pay a larger amount of money for that. While, Germans do not think it's suitable for children to learn a foreign language at an early age; they would like their children to have a good command of their own language before they begin to learn other languages, except for those coming from bilingual families.

        国内的幼儿园是按年龄分班，所以孩子们基本上没有机会认识自己班级之外的其他人，因为环境和治安因素们也不可能让孩子们自己独自回家，但是孩子们之间总该有些交流吧？打破大门的界限，把孩子们放出来，让他们在草地上打滚，在大森林中大声呼唤小松鼠，才是他们应该有的生活啊！

Chinese kindergartens put children into different classes according to their ages; therefore, children from one class have no chance to get in touch with children from other classes. I think children in a kindergarten should get to know each other. They should be allowed to play freely on the lawns and in the forest, to be in close contact with animals — that's the life they are entitled to have.

        我并没有说，国内的幼儿园就没有好处，早教有早教的好处，但是对于幼儿的身心发育发言，我认为德国幼儿园是更加人性化更加合理化，更加适合孩子们心智发育的。在德国很少有孩子不愿意上幼儿园，因为幼儿园里，轻松自在，又有很多小朋友，为什么不去呢？

I'm here not saying that Chinese kindergartens have no benefits at all. Early education does have its advantages, but I think the educational method in Germany is more human, reasonable and suitable for children's physical and mental growth. Few children in Germany are unwilling to go to kindergarten. They can feel at ease and play with so many other little friends, so, what's the reason for not going there?

        我非常希望，国内的幼教工作者们能够以孩子的需求为教育基础，把幼儿园办成一个小孩童自由玩耍的地方，而不是学校，一定要把学校和幼儿园区分开来，说到底，幼儿园应该是孩子们快乐玩耍的地方，过早地开始学习，取代学校的功能，孩子们的童年就被过早地剥夺了。如果幼儿园取代了学校的功能，或者把学校的功能 早早地下放到了幼儿园，那我们的儿童可就真的太可怜了，在他们人生的最开始，就被套上了枷锁，这漫长的一生中，孩子们在哪个阶段还能再拥有快乐时光呢？

I really hope the preschool educators in China can operate the kindergarten based on children's needs, and make it a place where children can play freely and happily instead of a school with many rules. It is necessary to distinguish a kindergarten from a school. A kindergarten is where children can have fun but not for study. If it replaces the function of a school, the children will be deprived of a happy childhood. If our children, at the beginning of their life, have been shackled, then in which stage of their life will they be so care free again?
