Wàngméi-zhǐkě
One year in the summer, Cao Cao led his troops to war. It was so hot and the heat was stifling.
By noon, the soldiers were walking slower and slower. Cao Cao became very worried, since there was still no water to drink, and the troops could not possibly increase their speed. He quietly asked the guide if there was any water nearby, but the guide said they must walk a long way.
Cao Cao saw a forest in front of them. He thought for a while, and then quickly he walked up to the very front of the soldiers. He pointed ahead of them and told the soldiers: "I know there is a plum forest up ahead, and the plums there are both sweet and sour. Let's walk faster and we can soon arrive there!"
When the soldiers heard his words their thirst disappeared immediately, and they really picked up their pace.

The meaning of "望(wàng)" is "gazing from the distance", and the meaning of "止(zhǐ)" is "stop".
