Torchbearer Zhou Tao takes part in the Olympic torch relay of Huainan leg, which kicks off on Thursday May 29, 2008 in Huainan, east China's Anhui Province.

(CCTV 05-29-2008 14:19)The Olympic Torch Relay for the Beijing Summer Games continues along its domestic journey. It toured Huainan City, in Anhui province earlier Thursday morning.

All torchbearers and spectators observed a minute of silence during the opening ceremony in memory of the Sichuan earthquake victims. Later, the relay began at the Huainan Sports and Culture Square at 7 am with Huainan native Zhou Tao, a CCTV anchor, serving as the first runner of this leg.

100 torchbearers carried the Olympic Flame along a route covering almost 10 kilometers. After a two and a half hour journey, the flame finally arrived at Huainan Sports Center.

On Thursday afternoon, the Olympic Flame will continue its journey through Wuhu City lso in Anhui province.
