(Xinhua 2008-06-03 19:45:58)Twenty two people are dead and two injured after a bus and a truck collided early on Tuesday in north China's Shanxi Province, local government sources said.
The bus with 23 passengers and a driver was traveling from Youyu County in Shuozhou City to Taiyuan City when it was involved in a collision with the truck around 7 a.m. on Yuanyuan road, a route from Youyu County to downtown Shuozhou, said the general secretary of Shuozhou municipal government on Tuesday.
All the fatalities were aboard the bus. The truck driver was slightly injured and his only passenger was unhurt, said the official.
Rescue teams sent the two injured to a local hospital, where they were receiving treatment, local doctors said.
Vice provincial governor Zhang Jianmin has arrived in Shuozhou and set up an investigation team. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
