Nine NBA basketball stars have arrived here in Beijing. They're here for a very good cause -- to play a charity game: The NBA side will play the Chinese national team on Friday to raise money for underprivileged children in the westerns regions of China.They spoke to the press shortly after arriving here on Wednesday.



Steve Nash,Phoenix Suns,said, "When you realise that, the children in China don't have the same luxuries as we have in Canada or the United States where we grew up. It's only possible to help so many kids at one time."



Yao Ming,Chinese NBA player,said, "Through the charity game we can help a lot of children who can't afford to go to school in China. I think this is just the first step, hopefully more funds will be raised to support the children's education."



Baron Davis,Golden State Warriors,said, "Our goal is to win the championship. You gotta go to Phoenix, Houston, San Antonio and Dallas, but we have been challenging. I think it's going to be a great year for the NBA."



All the money raised from the charity match will go to the "China Youth Development Foundation," in order to build schools and help pay the tuition of mentally challenged students in China's poverty-stricken western regions.
