Sixteen medical college students from east China's Zhejiang Province began a 10-day tough test for survival in Shanghai.
The Shanghai Daily news reported that starting off with just 50 yuan or 6 US dollars and a map each, their aim is to eke out a living in a strange city until next Friday.
The students from the Wenzhou Medical College, aged 18 to 20 and including six females, were divided into four groups to find temporary jobs in Shanghai.
During their likely struggles, they also have to pay 10-yuan rent per person each day for living at the Shanghai Normal University dormitory.
