Impressions on the Stone City Island(2)

Walking along the beach after dinner, I breathed the slightly salty sea winds. Further away, there lay several fishing boats in the sea.
Doing some stretches, seeing the sea from aside and with handstand, the views were then different.

We human beings were born from nature, so whenever we are in the reinforced concretejungle for long, how can't we miss the home of remote antiquity?

While walking, I saw a group of fishers talking to each other and pointing at a black object on the beach. My eye sight is poor because of the many years' computing and lessons, while my imaginations are beyond my control. I thought it was a whale at first! I was like a fool to ask the fisher nearby if it was a whale, and I didn't understand him because of his accent. Finally I understood that it was the corpse of a sea worker. Fear surrounded me before I wanna escape. The corpse was rotten and its head and arms were floating up and down in the seaside. A police officer said it could be the fisher from Wang Island, who died a couple of days before. His relatives were informed to recognize the body.
I was so scared and sorry for it, because it was my first time to see a rotten body. Actually I felt sadder because I believed this dead fisher must have fought against the tides for the fishes he got. The smiles of his wife and children should be his last picture in mind before he ceased breathing.

All rice in the plate comes from hard works.
People who count on the sea pay more than just farming.
The lives of fishers are so dangerous that they both respect and fear the nature. Pairs of scrolls like "Bon Voyage and Ship goes a long distance with calm waves" are seen everywhere on the fishing boats. They don't say any unlucky word in their lives. They want nothing but safety!

There always exists a strength which controls the nature. Will the unknown god hear the wishes of our ordinary people? Please let the sincere people live in peace and stay healthy.
The whole afternoon was covered by sadness afterwards!
Big Feet and Zhanglao were busying photographing the nature when I just randomly talked to the young fishers on the wharf. They go fishing at 3 or 4am in the morning and return at 8 or 9pm at night. Except for that, they do nothing. They can earn from less than a hundred to thousands of Yuan sometimes. It all depends on the nature. Their average monthly incomes are less than one thousand Yuan. The hard working and out-of-date life on the island make this young fisher frustrated.

He said: Only you outsiders say the life here is good. How good can it be? This is not like the old times when the entire nation was sealed and poor. The island people are now longing for the colorful life in town, not like their ancestors. The young fisher, who was about 20, looked up at the sunset and chased over by groups of flies. He has dark skins and twinkling face.

This had suddenly reminded me of the SPA program I was promoting. I wondered if this young fisher could understand that people in the cities would like to pay certain amount of money, which equals to his two-month's incomes, for washing his face.

Luxury can not be seen when there is no comparison. Life differs!
Passing by the wharf, I saw a shabby shipyard on the beach. The workers were busy repairing those old and shabby ships. That was not only an ordinary job, but related to lives. A small fishing boat costs 10,000 Yuan, but the annual maintenance fees cost several thousands. However, nobody would be mean to this amount of money; no matter he's poor or rich, because life is worth treasuring.
Some local kids were digging sands next to the shipyard. I thought they were playing games at first, so I also picked up stones on the beach, just like Zhanglao's 9-year-old daughter. Not until I came close to them did I realize that they were digging irons left from the shipyard.

The kids were afraid of strangers and kept silent at first when I approached them. But soon their fears were gone and they started talking about how many eggs their ducks could have and how their teachers punish their students. They had strong Zhuanghe accent so I could only understand half of their words.

If they were lucky, they could get 20 Yuan a day by digging irons. The four kids were from different families, but none of them was lazy. No matter how much they get, the money would be divided equally.

Whenever I come to countryside, I would care about the local education situation, because only education could improve people's incomes and quality of life. When asked what he would do after the primary school, the kid answered junior high school, high school and then college. When I asked why he wanted to enter the college, he suddenly yelled with surprise: It's another piece of iron! He then turned to look at me, with a serious face, as if he wanted to tell me his leaving. I said nothing.

Big Feet was on the other wharf, busy picturing the returning fishers on the sea.
