Recently ,I have saw a film named Gua Sha. It was about a Chinese family who migrated to America and the host and the hostess of this film had already lived in America for 8 years.The conficts were caused so frequently due to the backgroud of their different culture and laws.The Gua Sha treatment to children is common in Chinese while it is illegal in America.The highlight was in the court that the host of the film was accused of child abuse when he educated his son in terms of Chinese traditional education pattern and he took the responsibility for his father who was the real one did the Gua Sha treatment to his grandson out of the affection to him who was suffered from grief when he got cold.

The film Gua Sha is regarded as a classic which describes definite and subtle distinction and human values within Chinese and American .I was shocked because of the American legislation on the concept of child abuse ,which puzzled me for a while and gave a illusion towards my previous idea :Chinese child education is reasonable

With the plot developed ,I was taken into the climax of the story .So many conflicts and disputes were caused in the court between Datong Xu and the Constitute of Children of American .Datong Xu was accused of child abuse .A witness said that Datong Xu would rather abandoned his son as his wife met with big difficulty and suffered from great grief when giving birth to his son .And Datong Xu used a Chinese proverb :留得青山在，不怕没柴烧 .to refuted the witness ,which made her broad her eyes and confused her.The woman witness said who would know what would happen if you didn't give the child a chance to be borned .And this is the distinction between Chinese and American culture,which is the root of the cross-culture conficts.What's more ,we can see other facets in the movie .Datong Xu beated his son is out of the respect for his boss when his son had conflict with his boss's son,while his boss didn't understand ! Secondly ,the Constitute of Children of American accused him of child abuse ,and his plaintiff made a great mistake towards Chinese culture ，and what he said is full of scandal about Chinese legendary hero Sun wukong.And this is also a reason they didn't fully understand each other ,no matter in the traditonal value or in the conventional concept of human rights and national spirit. Thirdly ,Datong Xu's father tried to be understood by Xu's boss that the Gua Sha treatment to his grandson was made by him but not Xu. But when his boss asked him what happened actually ,he said nothing .And his wife Jian Xu replied :Because he is Chinese! How classic her response to his boss.For Chinese ,Datong Xu took the responsibility for his father and said to his boss ,it is he who did the Gua Sha treatment to his son, which is regarded as a kind of virtue in China while it is illegal in American . Gua Sha is a common phenomenon in China while it is illegal in American and forbidded by the law .There are many gaps between Chinese and American culture ,which make many troubles when they communicate with each other whenever in the negociation and whatever they do.

To sum up ,we should learn more about another country and his culture and law if we want to live there ,or communicate with them ,or cooperate with them .
