Unexpected population: Can human survive?

With the development of the human society, the population problem has become more and more important and serious. It influences, even restricts the resolving of other world issues.

Nowadays, the speed of population-increasing is so high that the natural resources and the economic development cannot match human's need.

After the WWⅡ, all nations experienced a baby boom. And in the following years, the number of population keeps on rising until now. In order to maintain the large population, we have to fell the trees, dig up grassland, and plunder all the available natural resources infinitely. As a result, the ecological system is destroyed; and moreover, the environment is polluted severely. The shortage of natural resources has made a great deal of extinction. And these kinds of extinctions are just the source of human survival. We are damaging our offspring's homeland. So we are facing an urgent problem: can we survive? Then how can we survive?

It is an arduous work to control the unexpected population. So we need the whole world's co-effort, especially the developing countries. Personally, I can only say I hope our political leaders will recognize the severity of this problem. All the human beings should realize that we need to build a harmonious society to match the global environmental crisis that confronts us.
