With the development of our economy and culture , our society needs much more responsibility and obligation ,so that we could build a world full of harmony. And then , as a college student ,we should make a contribution to our society. Also taking a volunteering job is a good way to achieve the goal.

Ever have I heard a saying that "Do Chinese people volunteer ? ". On hearing about it, I feel a bit angry. The people who said that didn't see the facts of our country. What they see on the streets is not the only side of Chinese humanity. In the community there are networks that support those in the community who are in need. Not only is there a culture of volunteering in China, also there is a long and proud history .

In China, volunteering is a part of our culture, and it is something what we are very proud of as a Chinese. So our college students should inherit and develop this culture, and the Olympic Games is a good example of what we should do. Many people in Beijing were willing to volunteer for the Olympic Games in 2008. UN Under Secretary-General said that: volunteerism will become one of Olympic legacies

There are also some benefits when working as a volunteer. For example, we can learn how to work well with others, how to communicate with each other and how to improve our organizational ability. Volunteering jobs not only need passions, but also require preparation and dedication. When we are helping others, we are also helping ourselves.

Now, more and more Chinese college students have been applied to participate in the "Go West" project. I'm happy to see that and I want to join them and do my best to help the other people.

As a student of Xinjiang Agricultural University, I think I have more opportunities to make contributions to the western region. And I will work harder to show that volunteering is a part of our culture.
