YOU have a remote control for your DVD player and stereo. You can fast forward or rewind (回放) to watch or listen to the parts you enjoy most. But what if you had a remote that could do the same thing for your life?



The movie Click takes on that subject. It hit China's theaters on April 20. Famous American comedian, Adam Sandler stars as Michael Newman, an architect with a good job, a beautiful wife and two lovely kids. Michael's life looks perfect. But nothing is what is seems. A closer look shows that Michael's work is stressful and he is not spending enough time with his family.



His life takes an unexpected turn when he buys a universal (通用的) remote to control his TV and stereo. The remote turns out to be much more universal than he expected. It doesn't just control the machines in his house. It controls his whole life. The remote can quiet his dog when it's barking, and he can fast forward straight past a quarrel with his wife. He even finds that he can travel back in time to see his life at different points.



However, this blessing (好事) turns out to be a curse in disguise. Soon Michael finds that the remote is controlling him, not the other way around. There is so much temptation (诱惑) to skip straight to the fun or enjoyable parts of his life that he finds he is missing a lot. When Michael tries to skip ahead one year until the time of his promotion at work, the remote keeps going. One year turns into ten, and he misses everything along the way. Only when he eventually loses the remote does Michael finally realize the importance of family.
