Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.

No matter where you are or what you may be doing, Christmas offers us an opportunity to focus on peace on earth and goodwill to our fellow human beings.

In a world that seems not only to be changing, but even to be dissolving, there are some tens of millions who want Christmas to be the same. We want to hold on to the old customs and traditions because they strengthen our family ties, bind us to our friends.
