Step One. Revision (5mins)
1. To check students’ attendance.
2. To check the assignment (Part 2 in English Weekly).
Step Two. Grammar (7mins)
1. To ask students to tick out the sentences with Subjunctive Mood in the reading passage DR ABC.
2. To show the following sentences in the form of PPT.
(1). If I had known more about giving first aid, I could have helped them.
(2). If we were to panic, we would not be able to help.
(3). Many hospitals recommend that we use the letters DR ABC to remember what to do when we have to think fast.
(4). She looked as if she were dead.
(5). Wish they had known more about first aid.
3. To discuss the sentences in pair.

Step Three. Presentation (20mins)
1. To show the following grammar items in the form of PPT.
(1).虚拟语气在条件从句中,分三种情况(以 do 为例):
表示与事实情况相反
条件从句的谓语形式
主句的谓语形式
表示现在情况
 过去式(did)
(be常用 were)

 would / could / might / should (用于第1人称) +动词原形(do)
表示过去情况
 过去完成式
(had +done
 上面4个情态动词+have done
表示将来情况
①过去式 (did)
②should + do
③were to do
 would / could / might / should +动词原形(do)

E.g. a. If you had come a few minutes earlier, you would have met him.
b. If it were sunny tomorrow, I would come to see you.
c. If I were you, I would go at once.
d. If I knew everything, I wouldn’t be here.
f. If they were here, they would help you
g. If you succeeded, everything would be all right.
  If you should succeed, everything would be all right.
If you were to succeed, everything would be all right.
Notes: A. Inversion (如果省略if,条件句要倒装)
a. Had you come a few minutes earlier, you would have met him.
b. Were it sunny tomorrow, I would come to see you.
B. Complex sentences
a. If you had come a few minutes earlier, everything would be better now.
b. If you had asked him yesterday, you would know what to do now.
c. If it had rained last night(过去), it would be very cold today (现在).
(2) wish接宾语从句有三种情况:
1) 现在:用过去式
2) 过去:用过去完成式 (had done)
3) 将来:用情态动词(would / could) + do
E.g. 1. I wish she would be on my side.
2. I wish I were 30 years younger.
3. I wish (that) you would get a good job.
4. He wished he hadn't done it.
5. I wish I were as tall as you. 
  6. He wished he hadn't said that.
  7. I wish it would rain tomorrow.
(3) 虚拟语气在 as if 从句中的运用
1) as if (as though) 连接表语从句
She looked as if she were made of ice.
He looked as if he hadn’t slept for two days.
2) as if 连接让步状语从 句
She looked after the boy as if he were her own son.
He speaks to us as if he had been there.
(4)虚拟语气在名词性从句中
A.虚拟语气在宾语从句中:
