The first period
Step 1.Introductory
1.Why learn English : the importance of
learning English.
2.The way of
learning English.
Step2 Presentation
Greet the students “Hi, boys and girls”. Write the
sentence on the blackboard. Tell the students that they can greet the teacher with “Hi, Mr/Mrs__”, write it on the blackboard.
Step3 Practice
1.Greet the students one by one. Encourage them to answer “Hi, Mr/Mrs___”.
2.Let students
practise in pairs.
Step4 Presentation
Draw a clock on the blackboard. Show the time of the morning. Say: At this time of the day, how do you greet your classmates or teachers in Chinese. When the students answer “早上好”, the teacher say out “Good morning” and write it down on the blackboard.

Step2 Presentation
1.Draw a clock on the Blackboard. Show the time of the afternoon. Say: At this time of the day, Can we say “Good morning”? Help them answer “No” and learn “Good afternoon.”
2.Ask a student “How are you?” Explain it and help the student answer “I am fine, thank you”. Let Students read after the teacher again and again.

2.Students read the dialogue together.
