Point out the five words. Say each word and ask students to repeat it.
Call attention to picture c. Say something about it using one of the words. For example, say, There are vegetables on the plate. Most people eat vegetables every day.
Repeat: eat vegetables. Do the same thing for the other four pictures.
Then point out the blank line in front of each word. Ask students to match each word with a picture by
writing the letter of the picture on the line in front of the correct word.
Point out the
sample answer. As students work, move around the room, answering questions as needed.

Read the questions in the chart. Say, What is healthy? If I never exercise and eat lots of junk food, am I healthy? Guide students to answer no. Then ask, If I eat lots of fruits and vegetables and drink milk, am I healthy? Guide students to answer yes.
Say, Listen to the recording and decide if Bill and Katrina are healthy. Circle Yes, No, or I don't know in the chart.
Play the recording the first time. Students only listen.

Call attention to the
survey with Katrina's and Bill's names at the top. Ask a student to read the six questions to the class.
Point out the
sample answer. Say, Look at the
sample answer under Katrina's name in number 1. The answer is every day because Katrina said she exercises every day.
Point to the
survey form and play the recording. As students fill in the answers, move around the room and see how many students are able to fill in all of the answers. If necessary, play the recording a second time.
