迪拜的突起和迅猛发展，其实是典型的出售本国优势资源、换取外界财富的快速成长方式。这种方式我们很早也提出过，即"拿来主义"。经常在新闻中听说伊拉克"以石油换食品"来缓解当地的饥荒问题，但当了解了迪拜的成长方式后，才感叹"以石油换食品"完全是资本主义国家用以强占他国财产的幌子。

The rapid development and prosperity of Dubai is a typical growth mode of exchanging national resources for wealth. This growth mode has also been mentioned in China as "grabbism" in an earlier period. We often hear that Iraq use oil to trade for food to solve local starvation problem. After getting to know the growth mode of Dubai, I cannot help thinking that "oil for food" is only an pretense used by capitalist countries to plunder the resources and properties of other countries.

        迪拜的特产只有2样，一黑一黄：石油和沙子。而国家靠出口石油获得的货币大量购买各种物质财富；吸引第三世界国家劳务来此打工、进行城市建造；邀请最优秀的设计师设计最豪华的酒店、商场、写字楼；引进最新的海水淡化技术以解决沙漠中的水源问题；设立经济开发区，通过税收优惠等条件吸引外商投资建厂等等，在完成了直接从沙漠地带至第一世界国家的转型之后，进行重新定位，获得新的发展方向。类似发展起来的国家还有智利，依靠铜矿的出口换取其他资源，并建立自由贸易区，吸引外资。

There are only two special products in Dubai: one is black as oil, and the other is yellow as sand. The country exports oil for money to buy all kinds of materials and attracts workers from the third world to work here. The country also has renovated the whole city, and asked the most talented architects to design the most luxurious hotels, shopping malls and office buildings. It used the newest seawater desalination technology to solve the water problem in the dessert. It establishes economic development zone and attracts foreign investment by favorable tax policy. It has completed the transition from a dessert zone to a first-world country and relocated itself and obtained a new development orientation. Chile also uses a similar development mode. It exports copper resources in the exchange for other resources and has established free trade zones to attract foreign investment.

       虽说城市的发展一日千里，但几千年来伊斯兰教带给人们的信仰却深刻地影响着人们的行为方式。男人一身白袍，头上的头巾用黑圈压住；女人一身黑袍，面纱罩脸，或见或不见眼睛。据说这种穿戴主要是为了防止在沙漠中的风沙钻进衣服中；男人的头巾还会垂下两根带子，那原来是用来拴骆驼的。随着社会的发展，现在的年轻女性也接受了大量外来的事物，有些黑袍也发生了些许变化——前面加一个不太长的开气儿，或者镶嵌些宝石，头巾的颜色也多了一些，但总体来说，还是那个样子。
        宗教对于一个社会的群体行为，有着极强的约束力，特别是在社会动荡、经济不稳定的时期，宗教可以规束人们按照既有的方式去生活、行为。人们将一切不幸运视为既定、应有、且必须承受的；一旦发达了，也是神所赐予的，不会因自我的膨胀而忘乎所以、为所欲为。那些黑色或白色的袍子不仅蒙住了或胖或瘦的身躯，也罩住了一颗颗可能肆意妄为或无以规劝的心灵。

Although the city has had tremendous development, the belief in Islam for thousands of years has deeply influenced people's behavior. Men wear white robes and use black ribbons to hold their headwear in place. Women wear black robes and use scarves to cover their faces. Some show their eyes and some even hide their eyes. It's said that this way of dressing themselves is to prevent sands going into their clothes in the dessert. Some of the men's headscarves even have two strips, which were originally used to tie camels. With the development of the society, young women begin to accept foreign things. There are some changes in their black robes. Some have a not too long openness in the front. Some are decorated with jewelries. There are also more choices in scarves' colors. But generally the way of dressing still follows the traditional way.

Religion has strict restrictions on communitybehavior of a society. Especially in disturbing periods or unstable economic situations, religion can constrain people to live and behave in certain ways. All the miseries are all considered as destiny and have to be endured. Once they have prosperity, the prosperity is also endowed by god. Believers won't forget themselves or indulge themselves. The white robes and black robes not only cover fat or slim bodies, but also restrict the minds which might indulge themselves or be carried away.
