On the moonless pitch-black night, the wild gooses are flying high. The enemy commander flees with his army quietly under the cover of the dark. We chase them with our horses lightly burdened, when the heavy snow covers our bows and swords in an instant.
In the poem, the tense moment was chosen when the army was about to chase the enemies who fled under the darkness's cover. The breath-taking and tense militant life and tough surviving environment in the border fortress was vividly depicted.
