在甲骨文中，一个人跪坐在装食物的器皿旁边，脸向后面转过去，表示"吃饱"，引申为"完"、"尽"、"已经"等意思。
On oracle bone inscriptions, the character "既" resembles a man kneeling next to a container of food, turning his face away as to signify "吃饱" (to eat one's fill). Later, the character also took on the meanings of "完" (finish), "尽" (end), and "已经" (already).
