鱼目混珠

Yúmùhùnzhū 

       从前有个叫满愿的人，买到了一颗非常大的珍珠。他很喜爱这颗珍珠，就用宝盒把它珍藏起来，只在过节的时候才拿出来让几个好朋友欣赏。
       满愿有个邻居叫寿量，他听说这件事，非常羡慕，也希望自己能有一颗这样的大珍珠。有一天，他捡到一只很大的鱼眼睛，以为是珍珠，就珍藏了起来。他不肯给别人欣赏，只是到处炫耀自己家里也有一颗大珍珠。
       有一天，满愿和寿量得了同一种病，大夫说要拿珍珠的粉末配药才能治好病，于是他们都把自己家里的珍珠拿了出来，大夫看到寿量的鱼眼睛后大笑："这哪里是什么珍珠，只是一颗很大的鱼眼睛，怎么能治好你的病呢？"

Once upon a time a man named Man Yuan bought a very big pearl. He loved it so much that he hid it in a treasure box, and only took it out on festivals for a few friends to appreciate.

His neighbor Shou Liang envied him a lot and longed desperately for a similar pearl. One day he found a big fish eyeball which he thought was a pearl and cherished it very much. He wouldn't allow people to see it, but kept bragging around that he had a big pearl in his house. 

Later, Man Yuan and Shou Liang caught the same disease, and the doctor said that he had to make up a prescription with the powder of the pearl so to cure them. Therefore, they took their own pearls out. When the doctor saw Shou Liang's "pearl", he laughed: "It's not even a pearl at all. How can you expect to cure yourself with such a fish eye?!"
