古时候，五台山曾经出现过一种奇怪的小鸟，人们叫它寒号鸟。寒号鸟有四只脚，翅膀上的肉很多，不会飞。

In winter, other birds all had thick feather and is not afraid of coldness. But Hanhao bird was quite on the contrary. All its beautiful feathers went away. In the evening, Hanhao bird hided itself in a stone chink. It was shivering. It kept saying, " So cold. So cold. I will make a nest tomorrow. I will make a nest tomorrow." However, after the sun rose, it soon forgot the coldness in winter and had no intention of making a nest. It still plays in the mountains and saying, "Muddle along. Muddle along!"
