Drivers who observe traffic regulations will be awarded "White Points" by the Dubai police. This new system will be announced in a month.
If the motorists have not committed any traffic violations for a whole year, they will be enabled to accumulate "white points" according to the new system. The accumulated "white points" can help them in scrapping simple offences or reducing car impounding period in case of major traffic violations.
The white points plan is the opposite of black points system which launched in 2008. An accumulation of 24 black points in a year would the license of the offender suspended for three months.
Dubai police said that they want to use this new system to encourage motorists to abide by traffic laws. A meeting was held on 16th to arrange staffs to coordinatespecific plans by the Dubai traffic police.

新制度规定，如果司机在一年之内不违反交规，其驾照上的"白点"可以累积。积累到一定程度，"白点"可以删掉轻微的违章纪录，如果遇到重大违章，"白点"还可以减少被扣车的风险。


迪拜的"白点制"跟2008年出台的"黑点制"相对应。"黑点制"规定，司机一年内积累24个"黑点"将会被吊销驾照三个月。

迪拜警方称，想用这个新体系鼓励司机们遵守交规。16日迪拜交警部门已召开会议，安排人员协调具体的方案。
